Project Area

In Southeast Asia, particularly in equatorial regions, the intense heat poses a constant challenge. Architectural design has long grappled with this, often resorting to fully enclosed, air-conditioned buildings where recycled air is artificially cooled. However, for Lilim (Shade in English), we aim to offer an innovative alternative. Rather than relying on conventional solutions, our design embraces natural ventilation, drawing inspiration from the shading principles of local trees and optimizing them geometrically to achieve comfort.
By mimicking forms from the local environment and using indigenous materials, Lilim seeks to create a unique commercial building that not only provides a cooler, more comfortable experience but also encourages visitors to linger. The result is a meaningful, sustainable, and culturally resonant architectural icon for the city.
