In line with our studio’s ethos of sustainability, Chameleon House reimagines the renovation of a residence within a generic Western-style community in China. Designed to seamlessly blend into its surroundings, the house responds to the client's distinct privacy requirements while respecting community design guidelines.
Like its namesake, Chameleon House adapts to its environment—its publicly visible facade is muted, subtly shifting in color with the seasons to harmonize with the surrounding greenery. In contrast, the private side embraces openness, revealing a modern yet serene retreat that connects seamlessly with the lush forest beyond. This duality allows the home to exist both as an integrated part of the community and as a personal sanctuary for its residents.
